Meteors and Fireflies

Summertime stargazing has been a favorite activity of mine since I was a kid. Even better is stargazing while catching fireflies. Have you noticed the glow of fireflies is a rare event now a days? Fireflies may be on the decline. Researchers are currently trying to understand how these vibrant insects are doing in a time of habitat degradation, light pollution, and climate change.

Some random thoughts for you to ponder as I leave for vacation. I will see you in September and hopefully you will have a chance to enjoy the last days of summer before it slips away!
